Bev's Blog: Her Wisdom

Resistance is the "fertilizer" for the things we do not want in our lives or in our world. Resisting anything, conversely, causes that thing to grow wildly. We cannot get rid of anything in our lives by pushing against it… whether in action or word. Thus, the old adage, "That which we resist, persists!" is an important message for us to understand.

Resistance is a powerful energy field on our planet and can be a handy tool for people to use once understood. But to use the belief of resistance to rid ourselves of anything is "inappropriate thinking" because it does the exact opposite of what we want. We've been taught from an early age to resist and fight against what we do not agree with, hoping to get rid of it. We judge it, then push against it, and in some way, hope it will disappear; however, when we resist something, all we do is give it more attention and energy to grow. This may sound like a strange concept, but have you ever noticed any success with this formula? Has anything in your life, or even your family's or friend's lives, ever gone away through the belief of resistance? If you're not sure, I challenge you to test this for yourself – Think of something you want to get rid of in your life, focus on it, resist it, then write and tell me that it has gone away. I guarantee you'll find the opposite has occurred.

Resistance takes us out of the universal flow that was created for us to have a life of ease and free from stress. When we practice the belief of resistance, we are wasting good energy that we could be using to create something good in our lives. Now, pray tell me why you would want to put yourself on the path of "struggle" when you can live in the stream of "flow"? Besides, it is impossible to completely "get rid" of anything in your life because everything is energy- and energy cannot be destroyed; therefore, the thing we are trying to rid ourselves of simply recreates itself into something new and shows back up.

All great teachers and books of wisdom have taught us to "turn the other cheek", to not fight back, and to take the path of non-resistance; yet many of our belief and religious systems teach the exact opposite of these great teachings. Why is this so? It is because of our lack of understanding these teachings of the truth. Instead of allowing things to just be, we label things right or wrong which gets us into trouble. By labeling something, we automatically judge it; when we judge it, we categorize it as right or wrong; when we categorize it, we resist it; and when we resist it, it sticks like glue. If we just leave it alone, it would go away!

So, the answer is to simply "Allow it, and Let it be!" Can you do that?! As a result, the thing you dislike will not be receiving any life force and eventually will die a natural death. If we withdrawal our energy from the unwanted things in our lives and help others do the same, those things will die also. Non-resistance is like stopping the blood flow that keeps it alive. Once we stop feeding things that we don't want with our energy, they die.

This is living a non-violent life. Remember, those who live by the sword also die by the sword. If we want to help create a better world, we must first learn why we personally want to resist so many things that come to us in our own lives. Once we the answer know this, we will understand how to better use our energy to create the life we desire!

Spend some time pondering the above words and your answers will come. Everything you need to know is within you. Practice the path of non-resistance and allow your life to bring you the good you deserve!
