The Heart

12-2-2008

Why do numerous people refer to "the heart" in conversation as if it has the ability to think, feel, and respond? During our daily conversations we casually talk about "the heart" possessing wisdom and power, yet we seldom seek or use it. Why?  Do we think the wise encouraging words "to follow our heart's guidance" from great teachers, sages, saints, poets, and heroes are simply metaphors?  There must be some truth about "the heart" offering guidance, as we have saved quotes of famous persons for eons to remind us to seek Heart Wisdom.

This week I recommend that we Ponder the quotes of famous people (listed below) encouraging us to follow our heart's wisdom and see what we learn from others.
