We recommend that you use what Beverley calls the “Heart Hug™” to help make this important decision.  Below are brief instructions.

Heart Hug™ Instructions: Pause for a few moments to take some deep breaths and relax. Next place your left hand over your heart center and then your right hand over your left one. Be still and become focused for another moment or two.  Next visualize the doll you took fancy to first, in other words the doll that spoke to you. Say her name (_________) then wait and notice how this feels inside of you, especially around your heart center.  Is there a warm sensation around your heart center, maybe a swelling like feeling? Sometimes you will even have goose bumps or a tingling sensation, all over when it is the right decision. If you have any of the above feelings then go with that particular doll. If there is no sensation or warm feelings, then visualize another WisdomDoll™ and say her name as well. No “feelings” means not that doll.  Easy enough.

You can never go wrong following the steps of the “Heart Hug™”. If you get several sensations… then go with the warmest and most profound good feeling. You will be right on and will have followed your inner wisdom. (The Heart Hug™ can be used anytime you need to make a decision. The dolls are so beautifully sculpted. Are they just for collectibles?
The first 4,500 dolls are a limited edition, and are considered collectibles. WisdomDolls™ were designed by Beverley Danusis and her daughter Beth Walter. The dolls were sculpted by a talented and famous artist, Chris Love of Carmel Valley, California. Each doll is a “work of art”. However, WisdomDolls™ were designed to be self-empowerment tools. What research has been done on the theory of the personality patterns within?
We have examined extensive research on the theory of personality patterns, or archetypes, from the works of Carl Jung, M.D., to Joseph Campbell, PhD., Jean Bolin, M.D., Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD., and Caroline Myss, PhD., to mention only a few.   Additionally, Beverley Danusis has been engaged in extensive research, of her own, for over 20 years.

An archetype is an idealized model of a person, object or concept from which similar instances are derived, copied, patterned or emulated. In psychology, an archetype is a model of a person, personality or behavior (wikipedia.com). Our definition of a universal model is simple. Most women are familiar with archetypes. Here are some examples: mother, daughter, grandmother, spouse, partner, working woman, wise woman and warrior woman. These patterns live within every woman and girl and it is their choice whether or not to utilize them.

What do you mean by the term goddess?
The term goddess is and was used in ancient civilizations to describe the personification of behavioral patterns found in all humans. In mythology humans are taught powers and given help in accomplishing the impossible. The assistance to overcome massive obstacles came from Greek Goddesses and Gods where there was a joint venture between the human and mythological powers.

We believe the playful goddess theme encourages the imagination and elicits empowerment and self-confidence in women and girls, while it replaces the hackneyed term, princess. Princess, Queen and Empress are figures that have power over others or manipulates with power. Moreover, the term princess carries a negative connotation, noted by many mothers as it perpetuates an attitude of dependence, rather than self-confidence and independence in girls and young women. One of Beverley’s favorite sayings is: “Goddesses come in every size, shape and color, while Princesses come only in one idealized package.

How can an inanimate object transform self esteem and offer empowerment?
You have heard the old adage, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Before the development of language we received communication through images. We have forgotten the power of images in this information age ruled by technology. The right side of our brains reads images quickly. An image like a doll can send an instant message to the right side of our brain and we never have to pick up a book. We simply “get it” with a glance.

Why did you use such realistic body types, including breasts that have nipples?
The dolls are sculpted to be works of art. Beverley wanted to capture the essence of a woman's body completely.  Our work focuses on the acceptance of the entire body and a healthy image. We do not feel that any part of the feminine body is offensive, only sacred. We teach girls and women to love, respect and honor their bodies, just as they are.

Beverley believes that female images have been distorted too long and she wanted to bring back some semblance of the authentic female body. So much of the beauty of the feminine form has been camouflaged in unrealistic body types as exhibited by some dolls. This is the very reason Beverley chose to design WisdomDolls™ with realistic and nature appearing bodies including nipples.

AboutWisdom™ believes that bodies are sacred and nothing is vulgar about any part of them, therefore, Beverley honors the feminine form by adding many beautiful details such as muscles, nipples and bellies on each doll. Yes. They were once called SophiaDolls™. We changed the name for marketing purposes.  The name still has the same powerful meaning. Sophia is the word for wisdom in English.
